The mission of Arts Illiana is to promote, support, and enhance the arts and cultural activities of the Wabash Valley. The Arts Illiana Gallery hold gallery exhibitions as an opportunity for artists to show and sell their artwork and as an educational opportunity for the public.

In March of 1942, the Sheldon Swope Art Museum formally opened its doors to the public with nationwide attention.
For over 75 years, the museum located in downtown Terre Haute continues to collect, preserve and celebrate the best in American art with programs and exhibitions designed to engage, stimulate and educate those whose lives it touches.
The Turman Gallery is primarily used for student exhibitions, shows for local and regional artists, and new media and installation projects. Turman provides students and professional artists an opportunity to display their work in a space that is professionally maintained while still informal enough to encourage experimentation and risk taking.

The University Art Gallery seeks to promote scholarship, inspire creative excellence, and deepen an understanding of the visual arts. The UAG serves as the pivot point between Indiana State University and the broader art world. The ISU community is exposed to the work of contemporary art through curated shows by nationally known artists. Students also gain professional experience through annual exhibition opportunities.
